Arctic Monkeys
OK I know I’m a bit late to the party on this one but I’ve finally picked up a copy of the Arctic Monkeys album and well must say that I’m impressed. Normally I’m a bit anti-mainstream music and prefer some of the indie artists but for once something thats not hugely confirmist has got some decent airplay and a good solid album from start to finish. A few more listens and should be able to work out which songs really stand out for me but so far the obligituary “You Look Good On the Dance Floor” has got me doing some toe tapping acton
Charlotte Church - Crazy Chick
The “Voice of an Angel” comes back with a new poppy single. Simply its boring, bland and probably will get to number 1. Give it 5 years an no-one will remeber it I’m sure
Lemar - If there is any Justice
A 3 min deluge of boring repative beats about nothing in particualar. Blah
Girls Aloud - I’ll Stand By You
Right its another underpowered covered by a chav girl band. It got to number 1 on the UK charts and its an alrighty mushy number for a drunken dance at the end of the night. 6/10
Judas Priest - Angle of Retribution
Now I really don’t know anything about Judas Priest apart from they exist so this is a virgin review/excecution. We open we a thrash metal Judas Rising which takes the ear drums on a thrash mix for laptop batteries 4:13 and never letting up. Deal with the Devil chucks us straight back in the deep end with a vengance. A strong chorus supports a good song. We now drop down into Revolution. A slower but definite rock sock massages you through.
We move into the middle and have a melody of middle of the road tracks with fast beats and satanic message but what else do you expect? Hellrider takes us into the final chapters of the album laptop battery with faster beats and slower words. We finish up with Lochness but to be honest its 13 minutes long and I’ve got other things to listen to and slag off. Overall not bad album to have in your collection if you like this sort of things
Jennifer Lopez - Rebirth
So I take this album out for a spin and start off with the UK number 1 “Get Right”. Jesus what was the buying public thinking. Its a ditty that opens with some jazz similar to a cat being strangeled and a simple monotonus beat with no real flavour. So skipping over that we fall through the rest of the album via a variety of banality and mis matched R+B. I just don’t like this album. Admitally its not my tastes but its just more mass produced slurry for the buying public
